I need to buy a new canister filter, i always get cascade filters. I have never had a problem with cascade, but the new marineland canister looks pretty good.

I has just currious what people think of them.

Hmmm, it does appear new as even marineland site doesn't have it. Instead of experimenting, why don't you get a proven filter for less? Go for eheim like everyone says, filstar or fluval are also good options. No sense in spending more $$$ on the newer ones, as performance is probably similar.

BTW what is everyone's opinion on the Magnum 350? I'm thinking of buying one for portable filtration and gravel cleaning. Let me know whether its a good filter or not (I always thought it was).

Right now, it has a very high rating. However, only 4 reviews exist.
Here are some excellent reviews on canister filters (including the Magnum 350 and the Marineland) one:

That site has great reviews on all kinds of stuff (substrate, lighting, power filters etc), hope that helps!
Whoa, posted at the same time! Great minds :)
IIRC, these new Marineland canisters are rebranded Tetra Pro's (as they are called in Europe).
i just recently bought a marineland c 220 as my fist ever canister filter, i was undecided between the fluval 305 and eheim 3326 and the c 220, the store employee helping me was quick to axe the fluval from my list for unreliability reasons, and pointed out that the eheim priming handel tended to break, He said he had no complaints about the marineland so i went with it.

The only complaint i have is the rattling noise that should stop after a few seconds of being started is constant(if anyone knows why id be greatfull for advice), Besides that its filtering great and my water has never been clearer.
Hmm the rattling is probably due to an air lock inside the filter. Try tipping the filter back and forth and sideways for a few minutes (I hold my fluval 204 for 10 seconds tipped each way, several times). Do it until when you tip it, no more bubbles are ejected, and no more noise exists. Also check the impeller to make sure it is installed properly (even its cover).

Fluvals are excellent filters with a budget. I've never had issues with mine (even when its clogged, it didn't overheat). Others are not so lucky, but that is why hagen is continuously releasing newer versions/updates. Cheers
I've been using the c-220 on my 55 for a month and half now and it's been working great. It's my first canister filter though so I have nothing to compare it against. Easy to clean and I never hear the thing.
Digging up this old thread while I am researching filters myself. Looks to me this is a rebrand Tetra (Japanese) ExPower line popular in Asia.

I have two C220s and two C360s they have proven to be great filters for me. When you first set them up its a good idea to fill the canister with water before plugging it in that will make priming verry simple. I think they work just as good as other canister filters ive used. My only complaint about them is they dont supply you with inline shutoffs or quick disconnects but for the price they work great.
