Planted some microswords a few weeks ago and now there appears to be a blueish green hair algae that looks like a catepillar that is attacking the longer, larger leaves.

Any advice? I tried pulling it off but its on there pretty good.

Just a betta, 3 cherry barbs and some neons. Ghost shrimp and an otto. It's not a stringy hair, its a thick, short hair that looks like a catepillar.

what size is the tank? how much water do you change and how often? can you post a pic? you are probably feeding to often or to much.. If your fish and shrimp get hungry they will start eating algae.

That's a good idea. It is a 20 gallon. I've been doing changes almost everyday due to cloudy/green water. But this algae is something different. I'll try posting pics later.
