Hagen Glo ballast

Hi everyone this is my first post. I just brought a 2 x 54w Hagen Glo ballast and just realised that the 1115mm bulbs maybe too long for my tank. Will it be alright if I use any 54w t5ho bulb regardless of length? or do they HAVE to be the 1115mm bulbs? also I was thinking of getting some JBL bulbs, what do people think of them for a planted tank?
