I have the hagen co2 kit bubble ladder, I was wondering if it is recommended to put a check valve on the tubing between the co2 canister and the ladder.
If you use the hanger to hang on the tank, there is really no hydraulic head, so the risk is low, but as Rex says, putting it a check is always the best route.
I hang mine on the back and I think only once has water ever come out of the tubing. It's not that bad since you wouldn't be damaging expensive equipment like a Co2 regulator. You'd just have a bit of a wet floor.
