Well I have an outside tank and recently, I bought
4 male guppies, and 2 died five days later. My nitrate is 0, nitrite 0,
ammonia is 0 too. The temp is 76F. I've noticed everytime I get new
males, they die.... I released my fry out too, and there is about 1/3 of
the fry left. Is it a cat that's doing this? I already tried putting a ton of
java moss at the surface of my tank. I even tried putting my left over
egg crate over the tank at night. What do you think is eating the fish?
I only have RCS and guppies in there.

Oh yea, I don't see any remains of the fry or male guppies. I
checked the filter and there are only 10 RCS which won't be
able to eat THAT many fry in one night, if they died.

are you finding them dead in the tank or literally they disappear?

if they disappear I would have to say a predator but otherwise they could just be sick maybe a parasite have you noticed any weird behavior with the guppies

I just saw this black cat on my patio looking into
the tank. I think I got my culprit.

Yeah I'm going to have to keep the egg
crate on top at night.
