Is there anything that will grow in the shadows of driftwood?

Crypts, Anubias, some moss

I had Lilaeopsis fill out those areas but it was connected by runners to a mat growing in full light.
Any low-light plant, like the ones Mattb suggested.

With the right substrate and water crypts will grow anywhere. I recently took out a big piece of driftwood to clean it and found a pretty healthy looking crypt plantlet in a spot where it would've been completely shaded if not covered by the wooded.
