Hi!

Ok, so I set up a low tech tank and let it brew for a few months. The fish was doing well and breeding alot so I figured all was fine. Water has been clear except for tanins which I don't mind.

A few days ago I noticed what looked kind of like the mist you can see on fields early in the morning - a 5 cm thick layer of green smoke. It looked kind of like a roof over the plants, about 20 cm over the bottom.

A day later another layer had sprung up, about 50 cm above the bottom (tank is 120cm tall).

The next day it was a green smog spreading through the whole midsection of the tank. Enough is enough, fish are in another tank and Im cleaning the whole thing out.. but what is that? Algebloom?

That sounds like "green water" - an algae bloom. If you search, there are a lot of articles on the subject.
