Green disc with CO2 bottle

548 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Sundance2010
I just purchased my first bottle (5lb.) of CO2. Behind the protective cover on the regulator fitting was a green disc. What is it for, is it some kind of seat that goes between the regulator and bottle fitting? Do I use it?

Thanks

thats exactly what its for. between regulator and the bottle. they are 1 and done, it needs to be replaced every time you get the bottle filled.
Thanks, didn't know if it should be used in this situation or not.
there are re-useable seals that can be purchased. they are called perma-seal. green leaf aquariums sells them for i think $6 but i honestly dont like them because they are leaky and i broke my last 1. just remember your going to need a new seal next time you get a refill
I use perma seals on 2 co2 tanks and works fine for me. I use the ones from aquariumplants. Bought them last year and still using them. Either of them is fine but you need one.

Appears that a new one comes with each bottle I exchange where I get my CO2 so don't think this will be an issue.

Thanks
