Hey fellow Nebraskans, just wanted to let anyone here know that the petco off of 56th street in Lincoln had a really good fish section. Specifically the bettas. There is a really nice lady working there who takes super good care of the fish (changes water every other day, feeds every day, cures sick bettas really fast, etc.) I was very impressed with how they all looked and were behaving. Just got this guy from there today. I normally try not to buy from big chain stores but I'm actually happy I stopped there to look

It really varies from store to store in the chains, usually depending on the quality of the manager and staff. I have three of the "P" stores near me: one great, one average, one awful. Then again, LFSs vary in quality, too.

Beautiful betta, by the way. Pretty colors and nice fins.

They really can vary, I went to two other main chain stores over the last few days and I was very unimpressed. Called a different store to ask what kind of bettas they have, halfmoon, veiltail, crowntail, etc. and he said he didn't have any of those, just your basic male betta. When I asked what type that was, he didn't know what to say...pretty awkward.

Thank you! It was love at first site with this guy, and his colors have gotten even brighter in his new home.
