got my sun sun 304B in today

i went with the b instead of the a, because oldly enough it was cheaper... any ways since it has a uv light in it, should i run it with my 55g planted tank? i was told by my friend that it might help control algae. is that true?

UV can kill algae (and anything really) but this will only be for the free floating bits that pass by it..

ye i am mostly concerned about the algae spores and the free floating algae any ways.
