You can use the Midday (6000K) and Aquaflora D-D Giesemann Powerchrome T5 High Output Fluorescent Lamps.

hbosman, the yellow of the giesmann mid day is why I like to mix them with the Aqua Flora bulbs
Yeah, I realize that. :proud: Just offering another option that might save a few bucks. It works well for me. I'll probably try the Aquafloras the next time I buy bulbs. I like to experiment as most do in this hobby. The GE Starcoats are often sold on Hydroponics sites so when I saw the price, $12.00, I had to give them a try. I think they look to blue by themselves though.

Don't mean to thread jack but since we're on topic, are GE Starcoat's good all around bulbs for plant growth? Or should I stick with Giessman midday/aquaflora combo?
It really won't matter.

I think you could get any flouresant bulb rated daylight at local hardware that would work just as good for green plants. For plant with some red or bronze would need to add an aquarium bulb like Hagens Power glo to bring out the colors dose with iron.
