I have 2 55 gal tanks side by side on a home made stand.One is heavily planted the other is a rather boring African Cychlid tank.I am seriously thinking of taking them both down and going with 1 large (120) gal or slightly larger.I would use 1 old 55 gal as a sump.Should I keep the 55 gal cychlid tank going on a new stand?How many of you run 120 gal or larger systems?I am also thinking of starting up a really large salt water system with a basement sump room(been researching that for years).:icon_eek: I will post a pic of the current set up as soon as the camera batteries are charged.

I would keep the spare 55 as a sump for the new Saltwater tank that you are going to do. I do not see a need for a 55g sump for a 120gallon Freshwater tank. Get some good filtration for your 120g freshwater and you should be just fine.
