Gluing spiderwood to get the desired scape. HELP!

Hey everyone. I have collected quite a ton of spiderwood and want to do a flowing tree from a mountain kinda scape but I dont know how to glue/tie the woods together to get that. I will need to cut/bend/saw a lot of the wood to get that effect but I want to know if there is a sure fire way to do that before I cut it. I have seen Malaysian/Thai scapers do that kinda thing but they havent posted a DIY video. HELP.

I would think zip ties to hold wood in place and then secure with stainless steel screws would probably be good.
