Glass gear

Here in NZ we are rather limited when it comes to the availability of high quality aquarium equipment so we either have to import or struggle to find what we want. I am starting up a tank after an absence of a few months from Aquaria. My new tank will be planted and I want some nice gear to run it with. I Will be getting a glass filter intake and output and would also like a quality glass CO2 difuser. It is more than likely that i will need to either import them or get them made localy. What are some features that I should look for in the design when buying on the internets or that I should incorperate if i get them made here.
