Minus the shipping they are selling them for a dollar a piece. Wow....
I can't believe someone bid on those! That's insanely expensive. I get them as feeders from my LFS 100/$12 or for 15 cents per. [email protected]|\|
lol 20 bucks for 12 ghost shrimp, what a deal!!!
Minus the shipping, if tank raised thats not bad. I would assume they aren't though.

I thought of breeding them to sell as "pets" not feeders but I just don't think anyone would pay the extra 75-95c to have good quality captive bred ghost shrimp that will live for more than two weeks...

my rip off LFS sells them for 79 cents each. Sadly they are the only ones that stock them aside from walmart occasionally. But I rarely go there.
They are usually $1 a piece when ever I've found them here.
Ghost shrimp suck anyway.
in North Carolina, i used to catch TONS of ghost shrimp in the local ponds. the LFS sold them 15 cents each. ghost shrimp are plentiful down south!

I think they're very amusing shrimp, and can be particularly useful in a community tank for cleaning up any scraps of food that your fish missed. They seem to be able to find food really well, as they will hone in on any fallen piece much faster than most shrimp even. Plus they go berserk during feeding time, and look completely hillarious swimming all over the tank with their long arms outstretched, and all there legs flailing frantically. Not to mention, they're large enough that small fish generally don't stress them out / eat them, and not only are they cheap, they're one of the only shrimp commonly available in a lot of places. AND, they crank out babies quite nicely, which the fish must LOVE.
So ghosts definately have their place; you're just spoiled
I think cherries are better.
i bought some at a lfs about three days ago. the guy gave me 20 of them for a dollar.

all but three of them are dead, now, however.

i don't think they were very healthy... :icon_sad: i know they were cheap, but i was trying to rescue them from being eaten.
i happen to love ghost shrimp, they were the first shrimp i was able to breed. even their babies are hardy and dont get wiped out easly. but i do have a question right now i have about 12 of them in a 12 gallon tank by theirselves i plan on adding 4 tiger shrimp to this tank in a day or 2. any body have this combination in their tank without any problems?
The ghosts will eat most of the babies and may occasionally snip at the tigers (usually only during a feeding frenzy). They are also pretty active compared to Neocaridinas, and this may stress the tiger shrimp out to some degree (I'm only speculating there, they may not care at all).
