Getting wisteria to take over?

I'm currently trying to get my wisteria to take over a 10g and become a jungle covering half the tank. I started out with some of the emersed grown stems from Petsmart - I have about 4 four inch stems now (that have transitioned) which seem to grow well and fairly fast. Is it possible to speed this growth up? I want vertical growth, but I'd like the wisteria to cover more area in the tank as well. Would trimming the tops and replanting them speed up growth overall? I don't really care about having perfect looking stems, I'm just looking for the wisteria to take over. Tank is dirted with DIY CO2 low/medium lighting.

Just cut them in half when they are about 6-8 inches and replant.
Will it do anything to the speed they grow when trimming? Also, my wisteria is growing bent, reaching toward the center of the tank, where there is more light. Is there any way to get them to grow straight without changing the light?

Nope, you'd have to get a stronger light with better coverage. The same thing happened in my tank. I rather like it, though. It creates a nice canopy effect.
increase light and add ferts (excel) or if available, add CO2.

otherwise you will risk an algae outbreak if you only increase lighting.

trim and replanting across the tank will help to spread the wistera across the substrate while also ensuring that all the leaves have light.

In addition to HO overhead lights, invest in a gooseneck spotlight, with the highest lumens/watt CFL. It will encourage side growth if you place it on tank sides. A pwrhead circulating CO2 helps also. If you have algea outbreaks, feed less, get otos, nerites, trumpet snails.

It won't take much to junglelize a 10g.
