I have an 180 gallon community tank with discus, otto, pleco, cardenal tetras, and some rummy nose, rcs shrimp, and a few amanos. I want to get a german blue ram or an apisto but not sure which one would get along with the fish I already have. The german ram has a really blue bright color that I like but the apisto also have an equally attractive bright red lol. Could you guys that have past experience of keeping them recommend which one I should pick.

I have both in my community tank (which has many of the fish that you described, discus notwithstanding) and they seem to get along fine. Also, be sure to offer several shelters so that they don't become too boisterous or territorial.

why choose....you have a 180 gallon tank......
get both.....
there is plenty of room for them to establish their own territories
the only problem that i see is that they might make lunch outta your shrimp...
or they might not ....ymmv

I like Apistos better, but hey, why not have both.
