Shouldn't make a difference. Gelatin vs. agar. Both should work, and both are safe.
One is animal bone (protein) based, the other is something that is extracted from seaweed.
I've eaten both (gelatin in stuff like Jello, but in Asia/Asian cuisine, agar is more popular).
