My brand new GBR's are behaving how i'd expect for a breeding pair to, except for a few tiny quirks, which make me wonder. 1) They're brand new, bought on Friday, so they've hardly acclimated. 2) They're presumably juveniles, they are only about 1.5" long. 3) They're doing their spawning behavior in two shallow pits they dug in the substrate (come on guys, i have all this great driftwood and rock for you to do it on!)

However, they don't seem too interested in guarding the area, nor do i see any eggs (in the substrate they'd be nearly impossible to see).

Could they be spawning? Could they be just really weird?

LOL

I gave my GBRs some nice slate to spawn on, but they never once used it. Always leaves or pits.

You may have eggs soon... or, it may take them a while to "figure it all out" and actually end up with fertile eggs.

IME it doesn't take long for GBRs to settle in and spawn, if they want to!
