My tank sits about 20 or so feet from a West facing window. Now that spring/summer is here, its getting more sunlight

And brown algae is forming on my front wall

How can I stop it without scraping it off every few days?

That seems kind of far from the window for the light to really be having any drastic effect. If you are sure it is the light, the easiest thing probably would be to just put blinds or curtains up on the window.

How long has the tank been set up? Sounds like diatoms or GDA.
