What are their maximum size? I keep getting conflicting info on them. some say 4" some say 3.5" and I have found a few that say 3"

Well the biggest male is 3.5-4" so 3" is out and 4" would be my guess at max size. I would recommend a 4' tank as thet are very active and love to swim the length of my 3' tank in a blink of the eye.

great, thanks for the info. I will now have to wait lol, my tank is only 30" so I think I will stick to my smaller rainbow species lol
