Description:

You are bidding on 10 unidentified shrimps. (tank bred)
Price: $70.00
Size: 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch
Color: random, mostly dark transparent because they will be young shrimps (the pictures show adult shrimps when their colors are fully developed)
Sex: unknown because they are young shrimps.

I bought these shrimps on Aquabid from lotsoffish a while ago. He listed them as unidentified. These shrimps are a little different than all those Caridina species type shrimp I tend to sell here. First off they don't get as big as Caridina species but what really separates them out is the way they breed. These shrimps have a lot more shrimplets than the crystal type shrimp and the shrimplets are born smaller. The full grown adults are even smaller than cherry shrimps, they come in many nice colors the most common are brown with a tint of pink, some shows amber color, some has dark deep blue. I love these shrimps, they are the fastest swimmers that I have seen. The young ones don't show nice color at all, they look like common transparent shrimps, but once they are sexually mature, they show nice coloration. I have very limited number of these, get yours now!

I feed them a bit of food every day, Shirakura shrimp food, Hikari algae wafers.

mystery solved.

i think babulti's usually for about 2.00-2.50 a piece...from what ive seen...
I've seen/kept many caridina babaulty, these are not one of those. Babaulty are much larger than these. Babaulty carry much larger egss. I have some berried females that are smaller than cherry shrimps and their eggs are so tiny. If these are babaulty, I'm pretty sure that Pete (lotsoffish) could have already identified them.

You can google caridina babaulty for pictures, you will see many different shrimps, including some that looks like these.

I would be glad to buy these from you for that price, PM me if you have some. If you happen to see them for $2.00 please buy them then resale them to me for a profit.

Thanks for your help in ID this guy.

also, any pictures of what they look like in your tank?
The adults look just like lotsoffish's pictures, the young ones look dark clear. I will take some pictures of the adults in my tank.

I guess they are Malaya then, I guess there are many common names for these guys, rainbow, malaya, babaulti... don't know if there's any relationship between Malaya and Malaysia, but these guys were imported from India. What throw me off is that I have babaulti shrimps too, they are much bigger and carry larger eggs. These guys are very small, I would say they are smaller than cherries.
