I got one in my tank, its 1/2'' size and white color..i found it traped in the floating riccia plant, i can see it pushing the water out of its body just like clams.
i have no idea how i got it though...this is a picture from google images,: http://gwsphotos.com/images/473.JPG

Wait, I just now saw fw sponges on planet earth. Go figure lol.
Lake Baikal, the worlds oldest lake. It's often frozen over, it's in Siberia.

simple, plants are collected in the wild and it hitchhiked its way in on your ricca. even the smallest pieces can grow a whole new organism. my guess is it came in on a wild crypt or something cool like that :)

I had this tank about 10 months, and this is the first time i noticed that thing hanging.
