This month's maintenance was crazy! I've very late on the photo bomb update, but here we go anyway.

Just opening my lids was insight into my month of neglect. My frogbit are creeping over the brim and touching the glass constantly!

The glare is killing this photo, but the huge windows behind me tend to do that. You can see the frogbit roots extended down to the substrate and coiling across the surface.

Here's a photo (2 6' lights on mind you!) of the difference between no frogbit and some frogbit.

Just an idea of how small these guys start out and how big they get. They grow and grow.

Bag one of three that I removed this month. If anyone needs some, I've got some.

My big mambajamba that I pulled out.

Time for the 50-60% water change. Clarity improving since I stirred up some much from the roots being tangled.

Essentially the same photo as before. The lighting is THE SAME for reference! I just had a huge nest of frogbit.

My 20 red cherry shrimp is more like 1,000 red cherry shrimp now. They have amazing coloration. They crowd the entire tank and swim around when the filters are off. I need to cut the flow on my filters some more.

It could be water lettuce! I do not know. I remove everything shy of a handful of frogbit every maintenance. I will say there are hundreds of shrimp though! They are super fun to watch scuddle across the tank. IF anyone in central florida wants a colony, hit me up! I'll give them away, but I'm too lazy to ship or go anywhere

It has been a year and a half! A hectic one at that. I let my tank go during this time. The floaters blocked out the sun and killed quite a bit of the plants.

Regardless, I did some much needed tank maintenance in preparation for some family pleasing tank additions. The shrimp were rehomed and actual fish were added to the fish tank.

Between the window and the TV, a glare on this tank is impossible to get rid of for photos during the day.

My daughter's additions include a pink red tail glow shark and ice cream cone house.

The tank will come around. I am changing the filter floss out and cleaning the bottom when I do water changes. A lot of the vals died off during the neglect and the crypts are much smaller than they were before. All my fault. However, the shrimp in the tank were sturdy and still kicking. I added fish slowly and haven't seen any ammonia or nitrite spikes, so I'm pleased.

I will try to dig up the old photos, this thread is full of image not available, which is a shame.

I added a decent school of a variety of rainbow fish, a pair of angels, and a small school of Denison barbs. I am going back to the LFS to pick up more Denison barbs and fill out a school.

There is a plan in the works for a new, larger, tank! It'll get a new build sometime this year.
