Welcome to why I despise Riccia. Worse than duckweed. At least duckweed only makes a mess on the surface of the tank... Riccia goes EVERYWHERE!
Fractured Ricca - what am I doing wrong???
I have a 215L tropical freshwater tank with lots of Ricca and Amazon Frogbit on the surface but my Ricca is all just tiny pieces.
Where are the floating pads I've read about?
Grows really well but no mats :icon_cry:

High lighting tends to help riccia form thick mats. CO2 also helps.
1. lack of light
2. lack of nutrients
3. lack of co2

It only mats up in my aquariums with the t5 fixtures. In all the other tanks it goes everywhere. It did grow nice in a low light tank I had with Co2.
