Fluval Flora Iwagumi

Hey guys it's been a few months since I took down the Fluval Flora. I had it sitting empty for a while and I couldn't decide what to do with it, I really wanted a nano shell dweller tank but I also wanted a shrimp tank anyways long story short I finally made up my mind and decided to scape an iwagumi tank. I wanted something I would be proud of so with some help and tough critiques in the aquascaping forum I created my first iwagumi scape. I will be doing a dry start method this will allow the HC to root and for me to gather enough funds for some quality equipment. Anyways here we go ..

First off I scraped the silicone off that held the original background. I then began playing with some scape designs and found one that I felt content with.

I picked up two healthy pots of HC from a fish store about 20 miles away because all the local ones either didn't have some or was infested with algae. I'm content anyways I picked up some rams while I was there and some other supplies. I spent about 20 mins prepping the HC removing all the rock wool

Hooked up the light and began planting. I spread the HC around the tank I was actually impressed that two pots filled almost the whole tank shouldn't be long before the whole tank is carpeted. Today is day 1 of DSM so I hope everything goes well as this is my first time using this method.

Looks great Agent69! That hardscape is gorgeous.
I just ordered a finnex funerary planted+ 12" and absolutely cannot wait for mine to come in. I will be starting my first ever DSM Friday as soon as my UG comes in....
