I recently took off the top of my fluval edge to possibly use as a plant only tank. For decor purposes.

I really like the look of those Iwagumi style nano setups.

Could anyone give me any tips on starting a small plant only tank? Do I even really need a filter? And for light I might be using a pretty bright desktop lamp which I believe has an incandescent bulb. I'm not sure how many watts it is

I'd atleast have something that will move the water, like a powerhead. Since it will be plant only and an iwagumi style, why not do a dry start?
