I scored this chi as a blank slate with no filter or light. Wanted to use it as a new home to separate my mixed shrimp a bit.

Fluval stratum substrate
sponge filter
Full spectrum LED with timer
Fluval nano co2 borrowed from my flex setup

R. Wallachi from my flex
New: Anubis nana petite
Java fern trident
Hydrophilia
Lilapeopsis
Alternanthera Reineckii
Cryptocoryne beckettii
Vesicularia ferriei

Nice! But co2 and sponge filter don't really go well together. You will be off gassing your co2 almost as fast as you pump it in. A job, canister or internal filter would be better.

Thanks for the tip, wasn’t too sure about that. I’d been running it initially with a small hob I had from an old tank and only had switched to sponge when I moved the little guys over.

Just my opinion go get a small glass defuser will look so much better in the end
