Good morning all...

I have a 29 gal tank with some Threadfin Rainbows, some Forktail Rainbows, a couple Otos, a few Zebra Danios and a bunch of shrimp.

The tank is filtered with a small HOB filter and a Fluval Canister. I'm wondering if there are any suggestions as to what to put on the intake tubes to prevent the filters from 'sucking up' small critters. I had wrapped the ends of these tubes with pieces of pantyhose, but they clogged after several days. Are there any sponge attachments out there that would fit these?

A number of the shrimp are 'berried'. I'm hoping one day soon to see some little shrimpets swimming around the tank!

Thanks!
Rob

I use Zoomed 501 mechanical sponges on all my filter intakes. I really like them, they come with holes already in the sponges to slide the intakes into, and they're cheap (about $5 each).

any sponge filter with 30 PPI (pores per inch) will work well with shrimp and not clog so easily.

Thanks Lauralee!

I see Petsmart sells the sponges you recommend on their website... will head to their nearest store tomorrow to see if they sell them there!
