Flourite + Fluval Stratum?

I have to restart my tank because of a leak. I'm planning on re-using my flourite, but I need to add something on top.

I could mix Fluval Stratum as a top layer, but I wanted to ask here for thoughts.

Another option I've considered is something like Black Diamond sand, but I realize that might not do much for the plants.

Don't do it. Just pick one or the other. They'll mix and look not very attractive. And if you want to redo it, you'll be unable to separate them.
