Flourite and General Hardness

Hi,
I have started up a 5.5 gallon tand with Seachem Flourite as a substrate.
I filled the tank with soft water ( GH ~120 ), but now it is at 300. I normaly keep my water fairly soft.

Question: do you think that the Flourite is causing the increase in GH? Will this effect decrease with time?

IME I have used flourite and have never gotten an increase in general hardness.

I'll keep goint water changes with straight RO water.
