I do not fertilize my shrimp tanks but I have some amazon swords that I wanted to stick in some of the tanks and I know they are going to need some fert tabs if I expect them to look good so I was wanting your opinion if fert tabs are safe for shrimp tanks? They will be going to the root of the amazon swords, deep in the soil. Should this be okay for any types of shrimp?
Thanks for your opinion :)

Anyone else have any opinions? I would like a few even if they are the same so I can feel secure in my decision :)
Thanks

As long as the tabs don't surface then the ferts released are used up under the substrate, you don't want them to surface as it will leach into the water column.

Not that I think it would harm the shrimp any but it could cause an algae bloom.

Keep them under the substrate. If for some reason they get uncovered and into the water there have been some reports of major shrimp losses.

They should be fine though!
