Has anyone ever used a floor lamp to light your aquarium? I was wanting to do a pendant light over my 27 gallon cube but haven't been able to find anything reasonable. I was thinking of doing the Ikea bowl DIY fixture and then though about just using a floor lamp that has a gooseneck that I can just aim down over the tank.

Here're ones we have used for our 18" cubes. Floor lamps from Ikea, we just made attachments in the back. Using CFLs. Got these over a yr ago, but still think they carry them.

Did you buy those lamps online or locally? I've been looking for something to replace the normal fixtures I already have over a long tank, and this might just work. Thanks

Those are nice! Did those have the gooseneck or were they already bent like that?
