I bought 6 young flame tetras and after getting them home i saw one looked like it had a disformed mouth. now about a month later as it has grown some it appears to be some sort of bump or growth with a 2nd bump on the side of its mouth. Are tumors contagious? should i fear for the health of the other fish? It is growing and eating. i have never seen this before.

Can you hit us up with a picture? The identification of an issue with any marine/freshwater animal is hard to diagnose without a visual. It could be something as harmless as a benign growth but it could also be something much worse.
