i cannot decide which fixture to get. i've narrowed my options to these:

i will swap out the actinic for a 6700k bulb... they have them at fosterandsmith

or

again, i will swap the actinic out... this time with a 10,000k

any suggestions?

I don't know the size of that tank, but catalina sells their lights with bulbs of your choice, so you don't need to swap out any bulb.

they seem to have great customer service. i've read that they are flexible with customization.

my tank is 8.4 gal. 18"x9.5"x12" (LxWxH)
If you use a 2 bulb T5HO light you need to raise it about 10-12 inches above the top of the tank. The PC Catalina fixture should work either on legs or right at the top of the tank, giving you from medium to high light.
thanks for the info, hoppy. the tank will be high-tech with pressurized co2. its for my small erio collection. so you would recommend the PC fixture over the t5ho?

i'm also considering the Archaea 36w PC... http://www.adana-usa.com/index.php?main_page=afa_product_info&cPath=72_74&products_id=452

thoughts on this fixture?
I have had good success with Toninas and Syngonathus in a mini-L with the 24" version of this fixture...
