Hi,

I got a clump of fissidens fontanus and want to make a carpet

Can I use these plastic canvas sheets and sew one on top of the other?
http://img2.etsystatic.com/002/0/5935157/il_fullxfull.364111746_qtzu.jpg

and then put the FF in the middle and sew it up?

Also, I've never tied down FF before but can I just do the rubber band technique? and I tried to lay it down as one layer of meaning it was just a frond and nothing on top other than the rubber band.

thanks!

That plastic canvas will float. Unless you got something to keep it down.
Also sandwhiching moss between it is no good for the moss because it will most llikely die then regrow instead of just growing.
Your better off tie it down with fishing line.

Thanks h4n!

Is what I did with the rubber bands ok too?

I wanted to put it in the carpet because I have extra and just want to make it easier to handle while I store/let it grow.

Should be fine but it will break down and fall apart at some point.
