I have a 90 gallon planted tank with 2.4 Watts/gallon T5HO lights. I need to restrict the photo period to about 8-9 hours due to algae issues. My pressurized CO2 comes on and off with these lights. When these lights are off, the tank looks very dark and the fish are not really visible.

I would like to add lights that make the fish look good but will not cause any significant plant (or algae) growth. These lights will come ON when my T5HO turns OFF. Do such lights exist?

My lights ARE in a hood. They also include 4 "moonlight" LEDs ... are you talking about these (not very bright) or different ones?

Thanks!

I guess I was looking to buy a second set of lights that go above my tank (I have lots of room) ... just did not know what kind ...

My T5HO hood has 4 bulbs with 2 separate controls. Maybe I can replace 2 of the bulbs with "fish viewing" bulbs that stay on longer?
