I did some research and I believe you are correct but I am less than positive at this point.Looks killifish-esque, but definitely ask the NANFA folks.
Can't be either of those as this was found in a freshwater pond.Fundulus majalis or heteroclitus.
You seem to be right.Is it native to your area? It looks like a banded killifish to me. They can vary in their stripe patterns.
The wiki on the F. heteroclitus mentions that they do OK in land-locked waters.Can't be either of those as this was found in a freshwater pond.
A few landlocked populations may exist in freshwater lakes close to shore,
