Fish Hiding

640 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Nordic
I have a 3.5 gal nano tank with Celestial Danios and Amber Tetras - nine in total. (to many I know)
The problem is they are always hiding until I turn the filter and circulation pump off to feed them.
I have a Hydor Pico Evo-Mag 180 Circulation Pump with the intake closed about half way.
My guess is they don't like the current but it's necessary for the plants.
I would like to take them out of the tank but don't want to tear it apart to do so.
Does anyone have a strategy for removing fish from a small planted tank?

Thanks

agree with @JJ09 , ive used one once and it was a successful piece of equipment...
Great idea - now I have to find a small enough bottle that will fit into the tank. What kind of bait do you use?
well you can use any kind really, I used regular fish food. (after a one day fast)
Yes, fast the fish for a day or two so they are hungry. I use whatever food they like most- if you have pellets or wafers try soaking the food in garlic.
You don't need extreme flow, just enough to keep diatoms and snail poo from collecting on leaves.
