First time using RO water, do I need to add any minerals back into it before adding?

I was wondering whether I needed to add any minerals or nutrients back into RO water before putting it into the aquarium? I have many plants in there and some crystal red shrimp and I was wondering whether the RO system would have taken vital nutrients out of the water or whether it would be okay just to add it in. Thanks!

Yes you need to remineralize it. There are a bunch of products out fluval makes one you could grab at a local pet store or fine some ro right would work
its not required to use anything. i've been using RO water since may without adding anything back, and no problems to report.

i did just purchase Trace(this past tuesday), and i am testing it in 2 of my tanks to see if i notice any difference.

Yes, yes, and it depends.
R/o generally needs to be remineralized to adjust for gh/kh.

The pure ro is only added directly to the tank when lowering these parameters.

Search on remineralizing ro for the numerous threads on this topic.

:icon_eek: Curious what shrimp are kept and your water parameters.
Kent's RO Rite and Seachem Replenish are products you could use (either one, not both ;))

Yeah, that. Fish and plants in straight up RO water is a whole different ballgame than shrimp.
