This is my first post.
I am a beginner who got interested in terraiums yesterday for a science project and found out that I really like creating small terrariums in glass jars with only moss inside. I have a question. Do you have to cut holes in the jar lid?

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to check out the Vivarium/Terrarium section. I think you'll find it worthwhile.

Do you know what kind of moss are you are going to be keeping? Could you post a photo or photos of your setups or planned setups to give people a better idea of what you mean?

Generally, circumstances depending, you shouldn't need to cut any holes in your lid. You'd just maintain moisture by regular misting. Opening up the container once every day or so will allow for enough airflow with misting. This will vary from terrarium to terrarium.

Thanks it has been a few days so I think that my moss is still alive.
I have another question if you don’t mind helping me.
I have not seen my springtails for days and I am a little worried.
Springtails hide under moss, plants and other decorations. I only see springtails in my bioactive snake enclosure when I lift up their water bowl. Springtails don't come out.

Do you have any pictures of your terrarium?
