So i just started my first planted tank. A 20 gallon long. Got my plants in today!
Here are a some shots.

With just substrate:

With the new plants:

I got the plants as a variety pack from aquariumplants.com. Not a bad number for $50. Only downside is that I have no idea what any of them are. I think a few are Swords of some sort, and a few may be some type of Rotala. I'm going to be going through the plant list here trying to identify them. If any one can help from the the pictures, that would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I know the layout stinks, but I'm probably not going to be keeping all these and will redo the layout once I figure out what I have to work with.

Tank looks great! I would scrap the sae for size issues and either get rid of the serpaes or get rid of the other tetras and get more serpaes. They are cool fish but very aggressive for their size. The black phantoms would actually do well with them i would guess because they have about the same temperament. I agree with ~~~, no cory should be subjugated to solitude, get him some buddies :)

i like the open foreground, not sure you have enough light for glosso to do well anyway. And i wouldnt worry too much about over stocking when you have that kind of plant mass. The inch per gallon rule applies to people who arent smart enough to pack their tank with plants and do enough water changes.
ive had tanks with no water changes for like 6 months do fine because of 3inch layer of floaters lol

Hey y'all! Just thought I'd give an update. I managed to find a store that was willing to take the fish. They actually gave me 1/3 retail price, so that was nice. I got rid of all the Harlequin Rasbora, Black Phantom Tetra, Neon Terta, the SAE, and the Cory. With the money from those guys I got 4 new Emperor Tetra (1 Male, 3 Female), another Oto, and a female German Blue Ram.

I don't have a good picture of her yet, but will post one as soon as I get a chance. I'm kinda sad as 3 of the new Emperors died. I think they were bullied to death by the established ones. One of the females has been accepted into the school though, so it wasn't a total loss. Now I'm just keeping an eye out for a nice male GBR.

Aaaaannnddd it turns out that it wasn't stress that killed those fish. It was Neon Tetra Disease. It claimed one of my old males last night. I'm keeping an eye out for any more fish that may be infected. It spreads when an infected fish dies and the other fish nibble at the corpse. Since there is no cure, all I can do is kill off the fish that show signs. I just hope it doesn't get into the Ram.
