Hi, first i would like to introduce myself. My name is Axel, and I live in Cancún, México, so I apologize if sometimes my english is not that good. I am 24 and I´ve always been into plants and animals, so when I saw all the beautiful tanks full of life that you guys make, I decided to give it a shot.
I call it experimental because here in Cancun, it impossible to find aquatic moss, nobody sells it. The only thing i find here is land moss and I had to collect it. Surely I could order moss from somewhere else, but first I wanted to try and adapt this "land moss" to be underwater.
I put it together last Wednesday. I have a small waterfall filter and used liquid Carbon instead of CO2. Also I used a plant fertilizer, so the moss have strength and resist. After a couple of days I put inside a couple of shrimps and they´ve been doing great so far. They loved the mini-cave under that rock. (I´ll get better pics)
The moss looks very good, it has grown this past few days and it seems that its going to make it. The light I´m using right now is a ReptiGlo 5.0 I already had, but i´ll change it soon.
The first picture is from the day I planted it. The other two are from last Saturday when I added the shrimps. Any advice or criticism will be accepted, as I am beginning and want to keep learning.
Saludos,
Axel
