Hello plantedtank.net, my name is Justin and I am a college student from Southern California! I have been a lurker here for a while, but finally felt the need to make a post! In a short few days, finals are going to be starting. I recently had a quarter life crisis where I changed my major and really evaluated what I wanted to do with my life. So these next few weeks will be rough in this transition stage. To get myself through these times, I thought it would be fun to to start a new tank and share that experience here.
I have done quite a few aquascapes at home, and have even done one in college. What gets me everytime to eventually hate my creation is that I cut corners, or do not think of a problem that ultimately makes me dislike the aquarium. I'm not a perfectionist by any means, but especially with a fish tank you see and work with every day, any slight annoyances grow with time. Having rounded corners on the tank, not happy with the overall setup, disliking my stand, and seeing a chip on the glass are all small, but extremely annoying things that really made me want to start over each time. With perfection (at least within my own perception), I hope that I can enjoy this aquascape fully.
Wow, so much text, thank you all who read so far. Right now, I am in the planning phase. I am going to buy everything off of Amazon as humanly possible for convenience's sake as I do not have a car. I also do have a budget, but I'm willing to splurge as this sort of represents a new time in my life as I enter a new school with new goals.
