After recently completely re modeling one of my tanks and giving away almost all of my fish(cichlids) in an attempt to create another water garden I realized I still have a 6" fire eel. He is very docile and has plenty of caves to live in, so I'm not worried about my plants(for now) but in all my other planted tanks my main algae eaters are ottos. they are the best out there, but will my fire eel eat them. He is used to being hand fed but I know it wouldn't be good for him to eat such a hard skeleton fish and it wouldn't be to good for the ottos to get eaten.

do you know how big these get???? 30"+ heres mine at 16"

yea I know how big they get but how long does that take? By the way, beautiful fish. At 6" whats the chance? He literally won't eat unless I hand feed him. I would be afaid to hand feed one that big, you might loose a finger.

that's a great looking eel.

I would think the eel would eat anything that'll fit in its mouth.

And if the eel gets too big, you can cook him up. I hear they're tasty.. (half joking)
