Finnex Planted 24/7 LED light

Hi everyone. Does anyone have this light and if so does anyone use the other functions on it other than the 24/7 mode? I just got it yesterday and I am thinking that the 24/7 mode will not be enough light for my plants. Meaning length of time. Also it never goes completely dark either which in my opinion wouldn't be good for the fish. There is supposed to be a new version Planted 24/7 SE series but has not been released yet. It will have different brackets on it but other than that it appear to have the exact same remote.

You can manually adjust it so it doesn't gradually get brighter and darker. It has about 6 hours of peak brightness on 24/7 mode. A lot of us here out it on a timer from 6am to about 10 pm so it has a complete blackout. Once it kicks on due to the timer, it stays on whatever mode you left it on. So mine will start on 6am on the 24/7 mode.

The newer 24/7 will be fully programmable, stronger and go completely dark at night. The only thing, it will cost more than the current 24/7.

I'm pretty satisfied with what I mine.

So I just got mine a while back and would love to know if there is a difference with doing a complete blackout. Where does it reset to at 6am?

Currently I have my system set about 3 hours behind actual time so when I get home later from school it's still well lit.

I forget where I read it here in the forums. Someone figured out that if you leave your finnex planted + 24/7 on 24/7 mode, power it down, once powered on it starts at 6AM point. Well supposedly it gives the fish better time to relax when its completely blacked out. If you were to put yours on a timer, set your timer to 9AM which will still turn on your 24/7 at 6AM setpoint.

Nice. I think I'll do that then. Thanks!
