I am running a 10" Fugeray on my 5g Fluval Chi (pictured above) and love it. Will the 48" version give similar results on my 55g or do in need the Ray2?

Can you give us the dimensions of the tank? You could also look in the finnex sponsor su- forum and look at the par data.

That's what I would look at. See what PAR your getting now and see which fixture will give you a similar value in the new tank. That is one thing that is nice with the Ray fixtures, the published PAR data.
