OK guys, i'm new to the planted world but have done aquariums for 30+ years, decided i finally wanted to give this a try because it has always interested me. Anyway.... I just broke my 180 gal down and am going to go EXTREMLY low tech on it. So my question is which one of these will give me the best lighting at that depth for med. and low light plants? I have 2 32" strips of each at this time but not sure which would be a better option. I know the differences in the setups and times on and the ramp times and all of that, I guess I'm wanting to know if anyone has experience with both to help clear up the confusion..... Thanks for any and all input on this.

I'm going to err on the conservative side and say that you'll need 2 of the Current Sat Plus Pro. At 25" wide and 24" deep you could adjust the intensity as needed.

24" is pretty deep for the 24/7. I personally have not measured PAR that deep with mine. I only got to 20"-21". If you're looking at the 24/7 Mode, you'll be at full light for only 5 hours on that mode, so overall PAR will be less during most of the day.

Thanks grizzly, so your saying go with 4 of the 32" Currents? It's not a big deal if i need to buy a couple more, I want to do this right and not half a$$ it. I've got way more than that tied up in this tank already!! LOL!

I would try running all four. Run the 24/7 on their 24/7 cycle. If you start having trouble with algae, dim one of the Sats. Or, remove one of the lights. Keep watching until you get to the point where you aren't getting much algae. This can change as plants get acclimated and you add fish. So, keep experimenting until you find a light level that works for you.

How about a single 72" BML with 90 degree angle? Without the dimmer it is 77 par at 24" depth in the middle of the tank. Less than 400$ before taxes/shipping/dimmer.
Just throwing out a different option :smile2:

Ah, shoot, you already have the other fixtures.
