About to place order for Fertilizer, was going to get all dry. Was going to get 1 lb of each. Adding dry is that the cheapest way? On tight budget. This is for 125g tank with 55g sump.


Do I need anything else?
Mono Potassium Phosphate - KH2PO4 - P
Potassium Nitrate - KNO3 - N
Potassium Sulfate - K2SO4 - K
Plantex CSM+B
Iron Chelate

I don't think you'll need iron chelate for a low tech tank. I would get 2 lbs of kno3 because your mixing ratio is usually 2:1 on kno3. You can get away without using K2so4 since you'll have k from kh2po4 and kno3. You'll only need k2so4 if you need the extra k.

For low tech, I don't think you'll need the extra iron as you're not putting your plants on co2 (steriod) so they are not going to consumed all the nutrients that quick. The CSM+B and root tab should have plenty of iron for them.

Like I said on the other post, I would agreed with Frank (Dogfish) on your plant selection. I would keep it simple.

I have seen awesome scapes with only 4-6 types of plants. Amano does it all the time. You don't need to have a jungle to have a nice looking planted tank. simple is sex!
