just curious, but your not afraid that tank will bust open on the top without the extra support? i know others have done it but, yea...

haha thanks yoko, the cleaner had just been

@boink, the tank is rimless, all that was around the edge was duct tape
i have tested it to 1cm from the top just in case though!

there i think that is what i want, a steep foresty slope
lots of low lying crypts and moss, with "logs" and rocks jutting out at odd angles, bolbitis as the background

im thinking i will have to terrace this somehow to keep a nice even slop of plants, maybe i will use plain gravel held into blocks using wire or something? any suggestions??

anyone tried steep slopes before? please help!

oooo ok, i thought it was the plastic rim that was on it and not tape, nvms then.

for the terracing you could try using wood or rocks to create a type of retaining wall. otherwise maybe different lengths of vertical acrylic will work to hold up the wall. id avoid using any type of wire or mesh as it will become a hassle when the plant roots grow out and you chose to rescape

Hey Felix, do you know if the Amazonia soil is like a "muddy" texture?
I've only seen pics of it, and it looks like gooey... Sorry I can't really describe it... Do you know? or have you not received it yet?
